Come Visit With Wazza And Holtie On A Holiday To Sydney.

Peter at Holties House has already written quite a bit about our holiday, so I’ll leave my written post until my return to Brisbane in just over a week’s time. For now, I’ll write a little bit of text with some photos. On our first day we stopped at a small township not far over the New South Wales border for lunch and drove up to the lookout to view the town of Grevilla. While Peter was taking some photos of the town I took these two photos of some flowers growing wild by the roadside. That evening we stayed overnight at Coffs Harbour.

The next day we stopped for lunch at Fredo’s Famous Pies where I had a pie with peas. This has become a bit of a tradition with me, that whenever I go on holidays I always have a pie with peas and this is captured on video.

Click on to enlarge photo to see the variety
of pies available.

It was also here that Peter has his encounter with Marilyn Monroe.

On the 3rd day we finally arrived in
Sydney and with quite a bit of “fun” we found accommodation where we were to spend our time while in Sydney. We had decided to not use the car to travel around Sydney and instead where we were staying, was only a two minute drive to the railway station. Sydney has a extensive rail system that would take us to all the destinations we wanted to go.

On our 4th day and our first day sightseeing in Sydney we had
decided to go up to the top of the 250 metre
Centrepoint
Tower
to see a 360 degree panoramic view of Sydney
.

From Centrepoint, we caught the Monorail over to Darling Harbour, which is a huge waterside complex. Here one is able to visit the Maritime Museum which has a decommissioned destroyer and submarine one can go on board. There are too many to count restaurants/eatery, souvenir and clothing shops at Darling Harbour. There’s an Imex Theatre, a underwater aquarium that holds over 5000 marine animals including tropical fish, sharks, stingrays and seals, and numerous boat/cruise tours all plying for your tourist dollar.

A short walk took us to the Chinese Gardens.

More will be revealed in my next post once I return to Brisbane.

Have a good time for me, Warren. And don't let that Peter get you into trouble!

Were those mushy peas in that pie? I had mushy peas with my fish and chips in Scotland several times.
Mrs. Jim has learned how to make them, they are good.

Hi Warren

I hope you two are not destroying Sydney on your rampage through that city...smirk.

I've never been game to go to the top of Centrepoint...I have a morbid fear of heights and that's a little too high for me.

Behave, you two, and save your shenanigans for Brisbane. At least we'd be more used to them...heheh!

I have an acquaintance who eats fried mozzarella sticks wherever he goes, and iPastor expands his "free coffee" tour wherever he can find some.

Hya Warren, I cannot actually believe that Peter is looking Marilyn in the face. Loved the pics especially the lovely wild Lupins.
Looks like you had a great time as usual. Thanks for the emails.
Cheers Margaret
