Steve Irwin 1962 - 2006

Steve Irwin died today from a stingray barb.
A terrible tragedy and a loss to his family and to Australia.
I thought he was a great
bloke and a credit as a
ambassador for the tourist
industry to Australia.
I remember when I first saw
one of his Crocodile Hunter
TV documentries way back in
the mid 90's and I thought he
was "cool" He was interviewed on a TV show here called "Enough Rope with Andrew Denton" and I thought he came across as a very intelligent man even though he was know as "a crazy person" and a larakin with the way he appeared to take dangerous risks when handling deadly animals, but he did know what he was doing.
He will be dearly missed and although "crikey" has been silenced, but maybe
not for good as perhaps his children with take up the "crikey" catch phase.

Like Peter posted, a very fitting tribute to Steve Irwin. I have read many posts regarding the "Crocodile Hunter" today.

I put a brief notice with his picture atop my sidebar today.

I was so shocked to hear of Steve Irwin's death when I woke up this morning. He was much too young to have died, but accidents will happen even to the best of people. I loved watching his antics and he always kept hold of my interest. I will miss him very much.

Great tribute, Warren.
What a sad day ... Steve Irwin was such an amazing personality, with a heart of gold. He put Australia on the map. He was so passionate about what he did. He will be sadly missed by so many people.
Take care, Meow

Hi Warren ~ Sorry you are still so upset about Steve. He was so full of life, more than anyone I know of. It is so sad, and he got a mention on every blog I've visited and all over the TV. He will be badly missed.
Looks like I am back this time. You take care. Regards, Merle.
